First Agricultural Fair of Warren County

Founded in 1857 by the Scotish immigrant James Younie, the Sugar Grove Fair was the first agricultural fair in Warren County.  By 1874 it was organized as the annual show of the Union Agricultural Society, a community-based organization that eventually grew county-wide.  Today this fair lives on in Pittsfield as the Warren County Fair.
